I am a graduate in Contemporary Crafts, I studied at Manchester Metropolitan University in the UK, working with papers, textiles and ceramics.
Exploring the possibilities of Embroidery and Textiles, Screen Printing, Paper Cuttings all by hand, I use these techniques to re-trace the lives, stories and journeys from the past.
In my ceramics I play with the fragility of porcelain, producing thin raku fired vessels that focus on the technique of slip casting and textile impressed tiles featuring degussa under-colour and oxides stains with a mother of pearl glaze.
My work tends to focus on collections of items for example Trees, Beetles, Clocks, Vintage opera gloves, Old hand written postcards, Ordinance Survey maps and Matchbooks to name a few.
My speciality is embroidering vintage papers e.g postcards, letters, envelopes and maps so take a look at my portfolio for a closer look! If you have any family Ephemera hidden away in a box that could be turned into a beautiful piece of art get in touch, just use the contact form.
